SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., March 20, 2009–Despite the current economic climate, the average annual salary for
technology product managers continues to be above $100,000. But average
bonuses are down slightly from last year's results.
Pragmatic Marketing's 2008-2009 Annual Product Management and Marketing Survey shows a very slight increase in salary over 2007-2008 (from $100,259 to $100,341) but does show a small drop in average bonus (from $14,799 to $12,467).
"It seems that many companies continue to see the value of product management and product marketing, even in a down economy", said Steve Johnson, Pragmatic Marketing instructor and contributor to the ProductMarketing.com blog.
The survey also looked at a typical "day-in-the-life" of a product manager. From how many meetings are attended, to how many e-mail messages are sent and received, to how many hours per week are spent working with Development, Sales and Marketing Communications departments.
Results of the survey will be reviewed in a free webinar on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 10:00 Pacific Daylight Time (1:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time).
Since 2000, Pragmatic Marketing's Annual Product Management and Marketing Survey has reviewed the state of product management and marketing in technology companies. For more information, visit www.PragmaticMarketing.com/resources/annual-survey.
