When 80 percent of Internet users own smartphones, it is no surprise that mobile marketing has quickly become one of the leading sources for generating inbound leads. Traditional outbound marketing efforts, such as cold calls, snail mail and trade shows have decreased in their effectiveness while inbound marketing campaigns have provided new growth opportunities. Driving more inbound leads is aided by the fact that approximately 70 percent of all mobile searches generate consumer action within an hour of the completed search.

Job Hunting Is Product Management

When the company Pierre-Marc Diennet founded and spent four years building simply evaporated, he found himself with no income, no savings, a baby at home and no job. It was the start of a brutal journey—from failed startup founder to gainfully employed product manager. Out of instinct, he resorted to the kind of product thinking he had spent four years practicing: He treated his job hunt as an exercise in finding product/market fit. Instead of thinking too much about the daunting task ahead of him, he put his head down, got out his spreadsheets and started tracking the metrics.
