Pragmatic Institute's New Data Science Curriculum

Preparing You for the Data Revolution

We’ve been talking a lot lately about the importance of understanding the impact data science is having on businesses. In fact, we believe in the future of data so much, that back in February we launched our first data course, The Business of Data Science, which teaches business leaders and product professionals the limitless potential data science can have on their products and business.

But we decided that wasn’t enough. Pragmatic Institute needed to do more.

We looked at the market and ran the numbers. There is more data created every day than at any other point in history, and it’s only going to increase. At the same time, the number of qualified data science-trained professionals is struggling to keep up with the demand from companies all over the world.

According to Indeed last year, there has been a 29% increase in demand for data scientists. And the number of data scientist postings has increased 344% since 2013. And last year, LinkedIn reported that the U.S. has a shortage of over 150,000 people with data science training.

So what could we do? Well, we’re pretty good at training—why not train the leading data scientists of the future?

So that’s what we’re doing.

Pragmatic Institute is proud to announce the launch of our brand new data science curriculum.

Designed and taught by our leading data scientists, the data science curriculum consists of five courses that increase students’ data science skills and utilize the best and most popular tools available today. Each of the courses focuses on exploring and enhancing specific data science skills.

Data Science I: Essential Tools introduces budding data science enthusiasts to the magical world of data science, data wrangling and Python, an essential open-source scripting language that will change the very foundation of your business data. Wouldn’t you and your team love to automate some of those more time-consuming, tedious tasks? If you or your data team have finally reached the limitations of traditional spreadsheets and are about to throw your computer at a wall in frustration, this course is for you.

Data Science II: Practical Machine Learning teaches students the skills they need to use their data to predict the future. Expanding on what students learned in DS:I, students further develop their Python skills to build programs and models that will allow them to channel their inner swami and predict the future. If you want to know what your customers are going to do in the future and what products they’ll need tomorrow, sign up now.

Data Science I & II are our first hands-on data science courses held in our popular public format. Each course covers important topics over 3 days to give you the instruction you need, when you need it. Register now for our first public data science training events in Boston, Chicago and more great cities this summer!

Advanced Machine Learning takes what was taught in DSII to a whole other level. Our exceptional data science instructors will show students how to take massive amounts of structured and unstructured data and turn it into solutions for their business’s most pressing problems. We’re not saying this class will turn you into the business version of Doctor Strange, but we’re not not saying it either.

Artificial Intelligence with TensorFlow and Keras dives deep into the worlds of AI, machine learning, neural networks, deep learning and more. Not only will students learn what these things are, but will get a chance to use them to build tools using TensorFlow and Keras to find solutions for reducing operational costs, growing revenue, increasing efficiency and improving the customer experience. AI isn’t taking over the world—yet—but now’s the time to use it to improve your business.

Data Visualization with Python answers one important problem with data: How do you display it so everyone understands it? Using our best friend Python, our data instructors guide students on creating a variety of different visualization styles that will make data shine. Students will be able to communicate the story of their data and data projects through clear and comprehensive visuals. Become the Van Gogh of data visualization with this class.

In each of our data science courses, students work on projects using real-world data so they can fully understand how to utilize these skills and tools in their own jobs. At the successful completion of the projects and the course, students earn the certification from the leading product management and data science training company. Letting them shout to the world their expertise in specific data science subjects.

Data is revolutionizing the way companies do business, and there aren’t enough qualified data experts to help them meet the challenges of the future. Give your career a boost with our data science training, available online, privately onsite at your office and in our popular public training format. Each option has its advantages, and the flexibility of each delivery format means you can choose the right version for you or your data enthusiasts. Let our team help you find the perfect option for you.
